2. I have a hard time seeing them succeed in this; can anyone mention a company that has been successful in branching out into mobile games? From what I've seen (I don't play mobile games myself), mobile gaming is just like PC gaming; a pretty cutthroat market where people tend to play what they enjoy, not living long on hype but instead being annoyed by half-hearted, rushed flops…

I am going to say no because their current strategies suggest a certain level of naïveté and well ignorance to how game design works and unrealistic deadlines are the biggest killers of coherent project development and game design it’s like a small pre-used band-aid being placed on a large wound with no disinfectant…it’s probably going to cause more problems than it solves.

6. This makes sense to me as a consumer, solely on Asphault Racing lol, i hateeeeeee IAP/DLC and it's great to just be able to play the game without a paywall.

   I think CF is generally right, but doesn't understand why NF is actually doing this. But at the same time states this is a pilot.
   "But we just don't know…." — like way too middle of the road coverage of this imo. But end with opinion on what NF should do.

   I like CF but this is annoying, based on you seem to be coverage/reporting vs. subjective… right?

7. The consumers don't overlap. It would work if those licensed games are as good as triple A titles out there.

8. You can't just make successful AAA video games. GTA V developed by Rockstar Games was twenty years in the making. Many of their other previous games including Midnight Club, Max Payne 3, are infused in the game. You have to be passionate about making the games. Bungie who created Halo was passionate about making video games.

   You can't buy your way into success and Netflix like Google and Facebook is failing at video games.

13. The one smart thing is they decided to do mobile and not AAA like google and Amazon tried their hands at and failed miserably. The investment cost is huge and its lomg term projects. Mobile is a low cost high return model. So unlike the formers, if it does fail, it will be a less humiliating and costly failure. I think the difference is that Netfilx dipped their toes in the water. Google and Amazon jumped in the water without adapting to the temperature and realized it was very cold.

14. it ain't worse than one of the games made by a company that is owned by vivendi is now a netflix one, but since the original gameloft version got shut down, who else could fill the void?

17. Imagine investing into mobile games and cloud gaming. One relying on aggressive exploitive micro transactions that most users move from game to game, the other a current tech pipe dream that even Google failed at. If they don't default to low investment mobile games their best shot is to rely on original games that are minimally impacted by cloud gaming. RPG, strategy, maybe simulation. Another more interesting thing would be social online games, boardgames or whatever.

18. It will fail. There is no money in mobile gaming outside massive whales. And I doubt the Netflix will be able to pull both subscribers and these in their products.

20. I legit only saw games on there last week 😅 I actually rarely watch Netflix on my phone so Thts probably why I didn’t notice it. I watch everything, including youtube, on my tv.
