3. Everytime I purchased 100% cash at dealer, the dealer does not have the title. It is sent about 60 days after you buy the car. The dealer registers the car/title and then the DMV sends a new title with my info via mail with the plates. Usually takes about 60 days

4. A cashier's check withdrawals the money from the account when it's written, not cashed. So the bank likely voided the check due to fraud, but how the hell did he keep going??? Fbi should have been all over that. Bank fraud is serious business

    We had a out of state buyer trying to buy a used vehicle. Using someone else credit information. After sending client info to Lender, lender informed us that this was a fraudulent Client.

22. @ VINwiki No, No, No. You start out saying Cashier's Check, then said it would take a couple of days to clear. That's not a Cashier's Check (aka Bank Check). What you are describing is a Bank Draft. Yes, a day or 2 to clear a BANK DRAFT.

25. Yep…right on ….Nephew sold car in Edmonton, got 10K Cashers Certified Check… ( two days later no good)..Feds got involved, they did not get right paper work to get it out of container in Winnipeg…then Montreal…..vehicle, ends up in South Africa. Sad!

I listed a harley on cycle trader. every single contact was "check scam". cycle trader does inform you on various scams. these scammers were very adamant and wouldn't take "no" for an answer. as soon as i blocked [email/text] one scammer. 30 seconds later another "scammer" would text/email the same exact scam. i finally just parked the bike in my driveway with a for sale sign and it sold in 4 days. cancelled cycle trader. in fairness to cycle trader they do warn about scams.

30. A deposited cashiers or a certified check will provide you with money ONLY when the funds appear in your account. Don't release possession until that happens, typically five working days. Cashiers checks would be fraudulent if the check is forged. Certified checks would be fraudulent if the buyer's funds are transferred out of the account (to someone else) before your check has cleared.

44. These type of scammers live in the moment, they don't have an end game. It's all about look at me now. I've got a new Porsche/Ferrari/Lambo. Next week it too far in the future for them to worry about. They think they can come up with another scam then, to get away with today's scam.
