A note about the exclusive podcast content, we filmed it but unfortunately there was a major audio issue so we couldn’t upload it. I’ve been away for 3 weeks (bet you didn’t notice) so it wasn’t feasible to re-record it.

Spotify is a massive titan in the music industry, but how did they get so large and how did the company start?

  1. how come there was no word about the problem with the apple i-devices? even if you pay, you can´t choose a specific song and you have to listen to adds. maby it is better to get rid of the spotify app on an iphone and try it through the browser…….

  2. What I love about Spotify most is its recommendation algorithm. I found my favourite band because of it and I'm genuinely happy to pay them for their work.

  3. like if you want more money on spotify, pay more, buy individual songs,
u pay like 6€ in europe for premium, i listen 500 artists probably a month now divide with 6€, you get 0.012 per artist without compenstaitng spotify.
it's really hard, but the business should be the first one to take some profit and give the rest to others

  4. One thing YouTube Music can't be faulted for is the sheer choice available. I used to have a Spotify premium account but I couldn't find lots of artists and tracks that I like but I was able to find them, and a whole lot more, on YouTube Music. Thus I dropped Spotify and opened a YouTube premium with YouTube Music account – the added bonus of which is no ads in YouTube videos. A win-win for me.

  5. I was that Napster, Limewire and torrent downloader! I downloaded everything in those years but I stopped when I discovered Spotify. I was tired of having to wait for all the downloads to come in and my folders growing to epic sizes (Terabyte sizes) and preferred direct access to music and podcasts without having to save all the files. The best feature is to be able to use it on every device I have including the car radio. Just activate Blue Tooth on radio and on your phone, connect and open Spotify on your phone. I was the only one using it so I could listen to my chosen songs while gaming. Then I got frustrated with the radio in the car, it did not have a cd player of course but it did have Bluetooth that was needed for the navigation app. So I started testing something, would Spotify work on it and it did! Now my husband uses Spotify everywhere too. On his phone, pc, tv and car radio! And all this for an affordable price! I can even connect to a Spotify group set up by my gym, so I can have my music played in the entire gym and all my fellow gym people add to the list too. Very sociable when sharing music with strangers haha! (I already shared with friends on Spotify so this was new to me). I just hope that Spotify doesn't go full woke as it has had episodes of a leftist tantrum here and there. But at least it allows most creators on there if not all so far unless the artists themselves pull if off like we have seen a few months ago.

  6. I would love to hear about the bots faking popularity. Save your Tears from The Weekd had 1800 Indian bots using 4G proxies working nonstop. Interesting? Most were proxies from US and Canada, trying to give credibility to streamings. Spotify = Payola.

  7. These origin stories for startups are all bullshit, I was in an accelerator and the first thing we were told is to make shit up about how we came up with the idea.

  8. I very first used Spotify in 2010(I remember this as I discovered it the night I split with my then, current gf)…all I remember was it was totally free and I loved it!
