1. I tell my Wife all the time, the next and last house has to at least have a 3 car or property to build at least a 4 car. I don’t give a dm what the house looks like, if the garage space ain’t right, we ain’t getting it. 😂

3. You guys are so lucky and blest who lives in U.S.. I live in Norway, richest country in the world, but no one have garages, you have to be SUPER rich to have even 2 car garage. It is scum, people have Porshas staying outside in the rain and snow. I hate it, my drem is to build like 10 car garage and maybe a small apartment on top. Love your storys Duge!

4. Never really heard of Mold being a big issue? But I live in AZ where its DRY and hot… so mold doesn't really take over… doing remodeling, you get some basic molds in places like behind drywall by the shower and such, but cut it out and new piece of green board up, and poof, gone in 60 seconds.

5. I am a Realtor in Dallas Fort Worth. Doug should have consulted a century 21 Realtor in his area in Ohio, purchased some land and obtained a wrap around construction loan and built the home/ garage of his dreams. Without a Realtor searching for a house is just a waste of time.

6. i can relate to this, couldent find everything but got a nice house with a decent yard 1.5 acre and then i was able to build a 1500sqft building i did 12x 12 doors so i can fit tall stuff boats etc , 14ft lift so i can lift suvs to the max height next to the houses detached 2 car garage

10. I feel fortunate when my wife and I were looking for our home. We live in California and the housing market is crazy. We were able to find a 1 acre property with a 2000 square foot house, 2 car detached garage, and 1000 square foot shop. We are also zoned for hoofed animal's and chickens.

11. When I was in high school, my mom told my dad he would have to get rid of one of his cars if he wanted another (two cars were in the garage and three in the driveway). Six months later, there was a detached, two-story four car garage on the other side of the driveway. No cars were sold in the process.

12. You wanna talk dream garage….my buddies dad has a 5 or 6 level underground garage you can drive in with a lift to every floor. Each floor can hold 10 plus cars with space to work on some. The lowest level is his son's indoor skate park.

    Its funny when my 69 gto judge ram air 4 is one of the cheapest cars in that garage. Top floor looks like a fancy show room floor type set up. Simple ramp you can move cars up or down a floor one at a time. We'll except a few of the really long and wide things he has.

    Whenever I get around to the slc dream build I'll probably be building it there. Gonna take some inspiration from all the exotics and some of the vintage vehicles since the slc kinda has throwback vibes.

    Unfortunately alot of the newer exotics in that collection are tame by the older cars standards. But some of the newer top end exotics are alot more exclusive and even more expensive. Though the resale on some of the originals is staggering.

    Still hope I can make enough to buy his diablo one day.

16. American car guys have no idea how good they have it. Here in The Netherlands (16th most densely populated country in the world) it is almost impossible to find a house with a one-car garage, let alone a house with a detached multi-car garage. Working on your car in the parking lot in the rain gets old very quick.

17. These days guys like Jay Leno, Tim Allen, Manny Koshbin and Shmee either rent or own a warehouse to store their cars.

18. My plan is to buy an empty plot of land preferably several acres and build a Castle as well as a garage large enough for at least 400 cars from the ground up. I prefer to hunt for land than a pre built house because then you can make your property the way you want and depending on what goes into the build it may end up costing you less than a preexisting structure. Knowing me though I'd probably go over what the property will actually be worth, but that's ok it's a forever Castle which will be passed down to my son anyway.

19. We went through the same thing. Our market was worse in the PNW price wise thanks to Amazon. Without being out in the sticks, or having a 2mill budget a nice garage w/house is difficult to come by. We had one fall through, then my GF found the house we ended up in. 5 min from my work, two large two car garages with storage, and an in ground lift plus a big yard for or two high energy dogs. I feel like the car guy who used to own it was looking down and helped make it happen. He and I would have been friends, guaranteed.

20. I waited until I was 64 years old to buy a house. It came with a 20’x30’ metal garage and a 20’x22’ wooden garage. My 24.5’ truck won’t fit but my pontoon will fit in the wooden garage. I do have concrete floors and a large concrete pad in front to work on. I’m planning on having a larger concrete slab poured for parking my 37’ fifth wheel on. No more laying in parking lots, gravel lots and dirt.
