27 thoughts on “I Quit! – Why Millions of People Are Quitting Their Jobs

  1. I resigned from my 10,500 USD per month job last month. On the evening of the 21st of November to be precise. It just wasn’t worth it anymore. I’m only 33, and I haven’t taken a day off since July 2nd, 2019. Nor was I ever on sick leave, during my 11 year career. Not even once you guys. I love to work. I ain’t gonna lie. I enjoy the pressure, and don’t mind working long hours. Hell, one would argue that I’m the poster child of what a workaholic looks like. At least a happy healthy one, if ever there was one lol 😂.

    What was it then?

Working in a toxic environment, where the office seems like a battleground from the Game of Thrones, or a perpetual never-ending episode of House of Cards. Not to mention the lazy incompetent senior management of baby boomers, with unbelievably antiquated ideas, no longer acceptable notions, of what a working environment needs to be. Not to mention the conformity, of trying to appease the gods of the status-quo, day in and day out.

This is my third organization to work at, and it seems that my career has this weird standard phase to it, which usually lasts a tad bit over 3 years, only to be followed with a resignation. First comes the hard work, then comes the recognition, and later the financial increment or job promotion. Before things go south, because a new management is in, and like all new dynasties, tries to sever ties with the previous one, by distancing itself away from the past, and anything that they might deem as remnant of that past, including people. It’s ironic, how this theme plays out every single time, almost with the same exact characters, but with a different cast of actors whenever it occurs.

Luckily for me, I’ve never been one to avoid uncertainty, and have never been risk averse when it comes to anything. Including jobs or income. So, I decided to quit all of a sudden, via an e-mail, after working hours of a regular Monday, with no plan whatsoever. Everyone was shocked the next morning, and I was in the Maldives for a much-needed break. Lo and behold, it’s only been 29 days since I resigned, and I get a call today, for a job interview tomorrow, to be a section head of an entire department, even though the position I had last, was Assistant Manager.

Fingers crossed 🤞everyone, and I’ll keep you posted tomorrow. Oh, and I just flew in back home last night lol. 😅😂🥹

  2. 99% percent of the people comments have bullshit job skills. Get REAL job skills and you'll get paid what the job requires. Working at Burger King and shoveling dog shit isn't a real career.

  3. Hi, I watch many many of your videos and have a far greater understanding of the world economy and monetary systems. Often you refer to socio economic effects bought about by the covid pandemic and government response to it. Have you read the book virus mania, or seen the videos about the book and virology and the competing views of germ theory and terrain theory. Some of the best insights can be found on doctor sam baileys chanel, I would love to see you do an unbiased deep dive into this subject. Many thanks Hedley.

  4. I enjoy your channel. This was good, but to really understand and complete the circle, you should investigate small business owners. Their experience, age, history might provide some interesting insights. As really, your video simply attempts to explain why this is/has happened. The big question is: where does this take us. Small business owners will help illuminate that potential path.

  5. Excess deaths continue to increase. Fewer people will consume fewer goods/services; therefore, fewer employees will be needed.

  6. I quitted UTC which merged with Raytheon while I was working for the company in 2021. Moved to Spain and haven't worked since. Not sure what may happen in the future but I'm a data networking engineer. Love my field but I believe I'm worth much more than I was being payed and it is my time.. Which has value beyond what I was getting payed so..

  7. I work for an auto insurer in the US (the gecko one) in medical litigation and our department is down from 180 examiners in 2020 to about 86 now, which is just fueling more burnout because the work gets shuffled onto those of us who are still there. I don't think we can dip below 80 examiners without the whole litigation structure for this state collapsing.

  8. lol the only ppl who are still working their slave jobs are the ones who haven't figured out yet that the whole money game is a massive ponzi scheme. That's principally y the gold standard was removed. Gave the corporate crooks a way to deregulate the currency value but keep the original value bound by gold stashed away in the event that the fiat system implodes which sooner or later will take place. If enough ppl realized this and everyone walked off the job the whole system would collapse. "It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning" Henry Ford

And because it's a massive ponzi scheme it's pretty much what breeds all forms of scams. The system essentially encourages fraud lol cuz it itself is based on fraud. It is the mother of all frauds. Step on another's head via exploitation or debt for self gain. Feudalism has never left it simply got a makeover lmao. Instead of monarchies kings and queens we have central banks and the corporate elite. Most ppl are stupid tho and it's the reason that enables the scheme to last for over 200 years. All scams therefore should by all definition be legal since feudalism is based off of sum form of exploitation which is the backbone of fraud. To exploit a vulnerability for self gain. All wars are fought for resources or land and always havve been. USMC major general Smedley Butler "All war is a racket" great work here.

"before u make fun of children for believing in santa clause just remember there are adults out there who still believe that war is fought for freedom" 🙂 welcome to the stupid sht show where everything is made up and the points dont matter haha

  9. Matthew 10:39- “He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it.

Mark 8:35- “For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.

Matthew 16:25- “For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.

  10. as a doordash driver, i had to take some time off from driving, due to my body feeling overworked during the pandemic. i drove for instacart as well, between march of 2020 and feburary of 2021. i signed up for doordash not long afterwards and overworked my body to the point where i was pulling 48 hour shifts driving nearly nonstop, with 30min-1 hour breaks for charging up, just to make enough money to meet basic expenses for the car and it still wasn't enough. since jan of this year, i haven't done much doordash because my body just can't handle it anymore.
its not like im in pain, but i get these weird feelings that my body subtly tells me that if i work another hard shift i might collapse. on top of it, the car is in a very rough shape rn, im hoping after i get it fixed up and repaired i might have something going for me and my body might be well rested enough for another 9 months of doordash work.
if not, i might quit the doordash platform altogether, and do a startup hybrid passenger and delivery service, one i set my own hours with and my own pricing thats competitive and a premium service. hate to have to do that, but i just might have to do such a thing.
but right now its so bad that my body flinches at the idea of driving in general, and some days it brings my mood downhill and i have to micromanage the rest of the way.

  11. I live a simple life & once my car was paid off I looked at the books & realized I could stay ahead of the curve without working. I find tidbits I can sell for a few bucks on Craigslist & make sure that what I buy I really need. I figure if it all goes downhill I can start working again. I'm retirement age so have benefits that younger people don't have so not sure how a lot of them can simply quit & not work unless they are mooching off their parents.

  12. …….. so that everyone is tethered to the cyberworld – and then the elites controls EVERONE, EVERYTHING, with THEIR technology and the world belongs to “Mr. Goldfinger”!

  13. I was in the service industry woirking at a high end high volume steakhouse walking with $60,000+ after taxes and including my cash tips the 3 1/2 years there…. I was a miserable bitch and never had time to enjoy life like it seemed the people I served every day were.

Pandemic hit and initially I freaked (LA has like 5th Lowest unemployment of all states) but in hindsight it was a blessing!

I promised myself I would ever take a huge pay cut but would not go back to serving and I did!

I love my job I have fun (never thought you could truly feel that way) I am good at it and I MAKE MONEY!

Pandemic was freedom from service industry for me!

    Pandemic

  14. Ive been quietly quitting everyjob ive ever had since i started working. this is not my choice. i always get into a job i want to get and get the money i want at the time. im not bored or burnt out. what happens is that the organization lies. they say they are about what im talking about but thats just to get you into the door. really what they do is just politics.. so i just keep doing what i said i would do in the interview. and that gets people steadily more angry at me. at first they love it. this is exactly what we needed. a bold voice, a risk taker. a doer. but then they want to fold all that into their little schemes. thats fine. understandable. but i just stay centered. about a year in they cant take it anymore and the relationship desolves. i ended up with severerence and 6 months unemployment insurance. sometimes i make so much in salary i take extra time after the unemployment runs out just to live on savings. ive worked a net net of only half of my working years while the other half living on paid vacaition. house is paid off. any body got a problem with that?

  15. I guess I was ahead of the resignation movement. I quit my job 10 years ago, when my investments generated as much income as my job did. I don't miss it one bit.

  16. I was in the travel and tourism industry. 2 Years ago my world crashed! I was making great $$$$ before covid hit. Now? i had to go to trading criptos. Game changer. Coved HIT ME HARD!
