Yeah, they're a top 10 band for me. Self titled, nightmare, city of evil and the stage are some of the best modern metal albums ever, and they all sound completely different.
Dude. I have no skipped city of evil and the self titled multiple time in the past two weeks
I've always held a7x in high regard. The City of Evil album is no skips
I love em’ but they’ve become really jaded now with excessive marketing ploys like the whole nft thing
I was a teenager when A7X was at their peak and I'll admit it took a couple years for em to grow on me, but they definitely kick ass.
Gates was the main reason I wanted to improve my guitar playing and to learn sweep picking and arpeggios when I was new to it. Them and as I lay dying for their creative, fun riffs
Guys from band "CHON" were huge fans of them. They have photos with them from that era as kids.
I was going to like this, but the likes are on a cool 777
Totally agree about their music aging well. Their songwriting is top notch
Personally I believe Dan Jacobs from Atreyu is incredibly underrated especially with how many riffs he wrote that became full songs
Always a very divisive topic. Which is funny to me.
Don't forget drums.
Dude!! I’m 18 and I’ve been listening to these guys for years and syn has absolutely inspired me, I picked up the guitar about a month and a half ago. He is definitely my guitar hero and this band doesn’t get enough credit
I had a guitar at 11, but when I found City of Evil and Waking The Fallen at 14 that was when I actually started playing
Bro they suck!
Nickleback rules!
One of your all time favourite bands?!?! What a piece of crap!!! Man, that says a lot of your taste! 🤦🏻
😂
YESSSSS OMG. SO MUCH YES 🙌🏻
Respect their impact. Their songwriting wasn't for me though. Maybe I should revisit them as I haven't really listened to them in a decade.
Still hate'em
Lol
Totally agree💥
I was in High School with a friend who was OBSESSED with this band, he was even inspired to pick up & play guitar like Synyster Gates! I was BLOWN AWAY by his favorite song “Beast & the Harlot” & he was able to STUDY SYN’s Technique of soloing & OWNING it on guitar! & A7X IS 1 of My favorite bands now! I NEVER THOUGHT I would have been able to enjoy it as much as I do!
I'll never understand this band's insane success. It just sounds like spit-polished butt rock to me
Great points!
I was born in 1992 and sevenfold are the only one who made me fall in love with guitar and they're the missing piece of me💙Without them I don't EXISTS.
Hands down, one of the best bands of all time. CoE is a God tier album, and aside from that one album, they never missed with any of their releases. They're damn good, and I don't know why they get so much hate?
Pro Wrestling, Rockband/Guitar Hero, Disturbed and A7X got me into metal. What an era. 🥲
This is very true, with Unearth , Shadows fall
My favorite song is scream. The revs drumming style is everywhere in that song. So damn catchy too.
I heard Unholy Confessions in 2005 of my freshman year in college and I became a fan! I was already a rock fan from years before with Godmack's Straight Out of Line though. Nightmare is currently my all time favorite album from A7X. 🤘🤘🤘
The fuck they did.
I'm not an A7X fan whatsoever but I will not disagree with this at all, you are 100% correct.
When I was in 8th grade (2005) my band did a cover of Unholy Confessions. I was the vocalist. I couldn't scream for jack shit, but I sure as hell tried haha. One of the first songs I ever learned on electric guitar too
Always disliked their vocalists' sound. Kinda ruined it for me.
I was also already pretty far into metalcore before i heard of AX7, so I never cared about them.
