  1. Born in 71…by 84 I was always at the mall on weekends…total mall rat..lol..my gf lived in lakewood I lived in olmsted..meet at the mall..hit the arcade and record stores first..wait for the next bus to go home..my dad was a North Olmsted bus driver so I could ride around all of Cleveland either with him or not..all drivers new me…great times…I so miss the 80's..I had a great childhood..no phones..come home when street lights come on..trick or treating at night…6th thru 11th grades..then you start to drive and work and people start to separate..so got to experience the 90s in my 20s…lots of bands lots of fun..happy Thanksgiving all..

  2. As a kid, we went to the mall for EVERYTHING…I regret that I remember carrying a box of birds through the mall.. as a teen, I'd go to the mall just for a Frappuccino!

  3. Yeah a lot of stores and restaurants at malls. At Ford city it was John's garage was great food. Montgomery wards, now sears 😓.I remember the Woolworth counter. I remember Warners brothers at another mall. i got a lot Christmas ornaments

  4. I really hate online shopping because I don't know how to buy clothes that's it online and then I have to deal with sending it back and everything else and I've received things that weren't anything like in the picture and much more. I really cannot stand Millennials and gen Z. Especially gen Z what the hell do they do to socialize in person? Back in my day in order to get a girlfriend or buy something more than likely you needed to go to the mall and actually approach the girl and ask her for her number you didn't swipe on an app it helps to actually get rejected in person it builds character

  5. I haven't thought about the Warner Bros store in ages. What a trip. I didn't realize some of these don't exist anymore lol. We still have malls and some of them are jam packed all the time, but it's like 99% clothing stores now so there's not much to do.

  6. Malls will soon be a thing of the past… This will be a history documentary along with all the other videos like it … Many malls have closed and everyone's online now so other things have closed as well like all of the skating rinks… Everyone's so preoccupied gaming and being online that they're forgetting about reality… I think reality will hit when the day comes when electricity becomes a thing of the past… When people snap back to reality and realize everything's gone… With all these wars it's only a matter of time before we're hit with one that destroys not just technology but also electricity…

  7. We used to have two malls, in the small city where I live. They were thriving through the 90s, but the 2000s did them dirty. The better of the two had Sears, Orange Julius, a cookie store, Radio Shack, Payless Drug, Payless Shoes, Hallmark, Bon Marché, Sam Goody, a couple jewelry stores, KB Toys, and a few others I can’t recall. They’ve both been closed for a while now, to make way for strip malls (which are horrendous BTW). I miss going in to the malls, especially during the holiday season. It’s ridiculous to me that these places have been shuttered because of cheaper stores to shop for EVERYTHING and online shopping. It’s really sad. I’d give anything to be able to shop like that again.

  8. I forgot what mall we were at that had a Warner Brothers store in it. That's where I got my MUTTLEY/ MUMBLY mug at. I don't know where that mug is now 😢
Sam Goody had a knack for carrying a lot of the harder to find anywhere else, music and movies.
B Dalton and Walden Bookstores. What happy Sunday mall trip memories I have about those stores

  9. Some might be regional, but some others I remember: Tape World, Record Bar, Sound Shop, Babbages, Radio Shack, Camera America (or any 1-hour photo developing place), Alladin's Castle, His Place, County Seat, Lechter's, Parisian, Wilson's (later Service Merchandise)… There are also some I can't recall the name of, like the place that sold wall art/posters/reproductions and frames, the place that sold tobacco products like cigars and pipe tobacco. I also haven't seen any pseudo-head shops in a long time: places where you could buy an Ice Cube t-shirt, a giant skull belt buckle, a bullwhip, and a blacklight poster in the same spot! 😀

  10. The silly things you remember: I liked wearing Kinney shoes when I was in elementary school. Cause the soles said. G.A.S.S. (Great American Shoe Store) on them, and I could walk around and my shoes would “spell” in the dirt. Also, then I’d know where I’d been on the playground. 🙂

  11. As an aside, I miss the mall experience. Sure, they still exist but it isn't the same. I loved having all those stores to peruse. I swear kids today don't know what they are missing. Going to the mall with your friends or on a cheap date was the best.

  12. I worked at KB Toys. It was a few months before Christmas, the same year the tickle me elmo craze happened. Man was I sore that I never bought a bunch to sell lol. The one thing I remember about KB was the music that played on repeat. Up Up and Away, I want Candy, Kids in America, Dog and The Butterfly, Lollipop Lollipop etc. I still know all the words and it drives me crazy when I hear them.
