23 thoughts on “How Flappy Bird Ruined The Life of its Creator

  1. wow this one was interesting, thanks for covering, i think his motives where noble, not everyone lives for the bottom line especially engineers and artists

  2. This is what great storytelling looks like. It doesn't just explain what happened, it makes you wonder why it happened. That's what keeps people watching until the very end.

  3. Followed a flappy bird build along from YouTube – had my young cousin play it as a means to keep her entertained – i have never seen someone so angry yet engaged for 2+ hours …highly recommend as a babysitting tool

  4. The concept of agglomeration economies is something we see every day in urban development, but it's rarely explained this clearly. As a Design Manager working on major projects here in Hanoi, I constantly see the friction between these economic benefits and the real-world challenges of infrastructure and livability. I’m currently exploring the economics of urban planning and its impact on long-term growth on Economics with Thanh. Such a great visualization of why density is the ultimate economic driver!

  5. Well, to me seems like society could benefit from having quite a lot more of this kind of person. (at least only considering what this video said about him)

  6. I guess he didn’t know that if you own an android and you click the OS for a certain amount of time flappy bird would play so you android users check to see if that’s still a thing

  7. Always thought it was a very stupid game… never played the original but spent about 30 seconds on a web knockoff and confirmed my detest for this game. Can't understand how this is more addictive than the cookie clickers of the late 2010's, at least those have bigger numbers to chase, but all those types of games are wholly uninteresting and boring to me as I age.

  8. I think it’s worth mentioning that it’s a bit unsettling that we are stepping into en era where everyone may be audio recording their interactions with everyone so they can do $hit with their LLMs (referring to the ad for the recording device that attaches to your phone)
