6. Just a thought here, but why not get some old mil-surp water buffalo trailers and just modify the drain spigot for your needs and just use a truck you already have?

7. I definitely like this kind of story. Hype cars are cool but are just not in the cards for most people. Buying what seems like junk vehicles and getting the run around is something any car person has dealt with though lol

8. I have such a love hate relationship with marketplace. I’ve gotten some amazing deals but you will deal with the most annoying people who don’t respond, lowball you, or are just straight up scamming on both selling and buying sides.

12. At this point in the story, do you really still want to get involved with this truck? Someone is getting a big ticket and/or going to jail over this.

13. If he didn't take that 500 from the guy that has the keys and title then they probably did something shady

14. At this point you might start calling local junkyards and asking if they have seen the truck or an influx of international truck parts.

15. You need to physically go to those tow yard's and look over the fences for that truck so far you have a unregistered transfer title and a missing vehicle that's probably crushed, but you aren't out any money

16. Get title in your name. Once done, file it as stolen. They'll tell you where it is pretty quick then.

17. Tow yard is sketch af. Can only deal with guy that towed it. So if my car is towed from a parking lot, the only way i can get it back is to deal with the owner of parking lot?

Check all the scrappers in the vicinity of that tow company and fast, don't call, go drive by, bring a load of scrap in to drop off ect.. if anything they wouldn't just cut it up right away they may be using it themselves or have it for sale or it could have been turned into a trailer, they won't admit to owning it tho..

Years ago I swapped a set of plates on a squaddies car which he had bought in Germany , I went to give him the old plates back he said chuck them so my brother being a bit of a car enthusiast I gave them to him , he lent the plates to his mate who wanted to move a unregistered ex US army water bowser I was not impressed , his mate borrowed them again to move a ex US army box van over 100 miles this time he roped me into driving an old motorcycle down as part of the deal no tax MOT or insurance in the middle of a snow storm , the van had half the front window missing .

You see the thing is the moment the title was in your hand and you took possession of the title and keys this now becomes a theft well really it was a theft whenever the other gentleman had the title and it was toad away that however My point is you should have called the police and showed up at the tow truck companies place of business with the police and informed them that they have your property at the very least they know where your property is and you want it back before legal action is taken
