  1. I don't think this is solely on TikTok. Before TikTok, it was Vine. Before Vine, it was YouTube. Before YouTube, it was TV. Before TV, it was radio. It's how industry moves, these platforms are just the extensions.

  2. I totally understood that comment saying that tiktok has sucked the soul out of some music. For example I was huge on Steve Lacy in high school before he popped off I would make skate clips at the park with his music in the background i loved the vibes. I remember putting friends on to “Bad Habit” and showing them the music video on YouTube, then a few weeks later it’s EVERYWHERE because of tiktok. What was once one of my favorite songs I can’t even listen to anymore because it was overplayed and no matter where I was I would hear it.

  3. We went from SoundCloud rappers to TikTok rappers! At least on SoundCloud a good amount of people had potential and some talent! This is China’s fault! After Vine went away EVERYONE by default switched over to TikTok! You can get followers, views, and ad dollars quicker than YouTube or instagram! I have like 20 followers and I’ve never posted! I don’t even have a profile pic! Our government is still trying to get it banned in the USA! These kids would lose their minds if that ever happened! Until the TikTok comes around we are stuck! 🤷🏽‍♀️

  4. There were one hit wonders way before Tik Tok. One hit wonders have been around since the beginning of the music industry. It’s up to that artist and team to take advantage of that one hit and make the right moves and songs.
