When Las Vegas/ Clark County/ State of Nevada was giving out the first licences for recreational. 2016/2017 There was a "lottery", but to qualify you had to be a business owner and have a Million USD at minimum in the bank and report income of at least 300k annually. Therefore independent and small boutique shops had no chance in my city. We the consumers pay 20% in sales and excise tax on cannabis products. Reef Dispensary is the only retailer and cultivator that has an in-house brand called "Tryke Industries" and grows its own on site. They were the first to carry products by the Cookies brand and Khalifa Kush strain. The rest of the brands are licensees and middle men who rush everything to market and are never consistent with strains or quality. In 7 years of legalization, 07-01-2017 and 25 years of blazing regularly. I have only been impressed a couple of times by some flower from the dispensaries. Now I only buy carts and disposable pens from dispensaries, but even now that is sketchy with heavy metals and carcinogens being found. I used to smoke better flower 15- 20+ years ago. Everything to me now in Las Vegas is mid grade.
