32 thoughts on “Are Tester Genetics Legitimate? – From The Stash Podcast Ep.189

  1. Everything you get are technically testers, all they guarantee is germination. Once they pop, is all up to you to get them to finish. It all boils down to the breeder being honest about what they are selling you are not stressed induced beans. 💪🪴

  2. lol it wasn’t one bad drop. The bad drop was the big public flop the whole community saw, but plenty people been unhappy with them for awhile. I’ve never been impressed.

  3. For all new growers

    Grow Bag seeds

Buy seeds to support a person you like!
Realize that seeds are individuals (even if inbred) imagine 5 sisters they all lookalike but they are different! Same mom same dad! Even the twins are opposite 😂

  4. Im still kinda new to growing can someone explain to me whats better to purchase f1 f2 f3 rx3 so on? I had my first plant herm on me it was a tacky glue x unicorn poop f1 by dirty bird genetics. Its finishing up now im almost week 8 of flower gonna harveat week 9. I always use ethos an no problems yet

  5. some testers from mephisto have impressed me. haven’t found a freebie that great in photos yet.

i like strains that have been worked on for a long time. hype strains can be a big hit or miss. chill out og sounds intriguing bc i like calm weed.

  6. 5:43 if you look at the testing setups that Dr. Bugbee has they aren't very big or elaborate it's basically like a small automated growing enclosure and they expose the plants to all sorts of various conditions in those little setups. Make em small enough you could stack a row two or three high.

  7. the reason hsc is fucked over by one drop is the ludicrous price tag, they should have known that the backlash would be fierce if they didn't meet the hype

  8. Testing weed is a good business move . The more you know about cultivars the better ! However honesty, and experience are absolutely necessary on both sides. A LOT of bullshit and mediocre agronomy going on out there. .! I grew some for a dude called Jinxproof and he was good to work with, and a straight up dude !! Peace

  9. As being a Tester for a number of Breeders. I will say that true breeders depend and utilize testers on their unreleased genetic projects.
I’ve never paid for any of the testers I’ve ran.

  10. the cost should not be 10 bucks a bean when you can possibly get upwards of 5000 seeds per plant depending on plant size and all that the cost should be 2-5 dollers regs for 2 fems for 5 and auto's at 3 for regs and 5 for fems thats a good deal and people would buy alot more i think

  11. You guys are misusing breeding terms you gotta chill. There are very little amount of f1s in modern breeding because not many breeders are working with land race material to begin with. Therefore what filial generation should have nothing to do with the charge receives. While I do agree with you that testers should be less money if not free. The amount that somebody charges from based on the I'm seats that were able to produce for the particular cultivar. Some cultivars take pollen and produce seeds more easily than others. Which is why you see breeders like csi charging 300 for a pack of TK s1 but most of his work is 100 a pack.

  12. Most stress testing should be done by the breeder before getting others to test. When sending to testers they should more so be looking for the difference found through different grow styles and environments. If that shows undesirable traits as well so be it. But most of those weak traits should be bred out before giving it to anyone. OR be very transparent about what it is. . . But this isnt best.

  13. Not everyone wants to test. The people who love popping and hunting, they generally enjoy testing. It's cool if someone wants to charge to cover the cost of their testing program (shipping costs and such). Transparency to consumers is one of the most important aspects of an ethically managed business.
