In a recent interview, Paul Stanley of KISS once again threw shade at former bandmates Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, highlighting their departures and the struggles he faced keeping the band together. Stanley emphasized the magical chemistry the original lineup had but lamented the paths Frehley and Criss took, which he felt diluted their talent and potential. He specifically pointed out how Frehley stopped practicing and got involved in activities that ultimately diminished his craft (Paul Stanley) (BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

Stanley expressed his frustration about feeling abandoned during the early 80s when Frehley and Criss were on their way out, and Gene Simmons was focused on his Hollywood ventures. He felt the burden of keeping KISS afloat fell entirely on his shoulders. This period was particularly stressful for him, as he was managing the band’s affairs almost single-handedly while still splitting income and royalties with his less involved bandmates (Paul Stanley).

Regarding the potential reunion of the original KISS lineup, Stanley was quite clear that it doesn’t make sense for the band’s farewell tour. He explained that while the original lineup was crucial in KISS’s history, their current performances and lineup are what sustain their legacy. He also criticized the demands made by Frehley and Criss for creative control and compensation during past reunion attempts, stating that accommodating such demands would undermine the band’s current achievements (Ultimate Classic Rock) (BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

KISS is scheduled to conclude their iconic career with a final performance at Madison Square Garden in New York City this December. This show will mark the end of their “End of the Road” tour, celebrating the band’s 50-year legacy. Despite mixed emotions about the final concert, Stanley views it as a victory lap, acknowledging the extraordinary journey KISS has had and the multigenerational audience they continue to engage (BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

48 thoughts on “KISS Feud: Paul Stanley Does’t Want the Classic Lineup on Stage

  1. since they are ALL alive except eric carr they should ALL turn up at the last show BUT this will never happen TOO MANY EGOS and they dont need the money they are already rich. be funny if no one turns up in the audience and then they all ask for a refund which would be the smart thing to do. they were a great band for a long time, until all that imposter crap

  2. Well I don't know…
There is a tiny little chance, that that is going to happen…
I don't think that this will happen on The End Of The Road World Tour.
    Maybe, after that tour.
    But we'll see.

  3. Hi I think your wrong, ACE, Peter are not interested in it , and after all the
Mud slinging I don’t blame them it’s all done get over it , live your life n get lost paul n gean !!!!!

  4. I think I was about 8 or 10 when they started referring to the ‘Kiss Army’. Even at that young age, in the ‘70s, I wanted no part in some disgruntled dysfunctional army of clowns. I see all these many years later in my 60s, how smart I was at such an early age.

  5. The entire problem is pride and Greed, and not in that order. Gene and Paul have gotten to the point of ego and Greediness that they will let the fans suffer.

  6. I don't care how hard Peter and Ace made things for them on the road, they were KISS. They should respect that fact. The other members were truly members of kiss, I don't deny that but people want to see the Cat and the Spaceman. The original lineup of KISS members is like anything else, it is what it is.

  7. they are so full of BULL – it's not for the fans – not for a very long time . 2 studio albums and there is no money in it and IF there was they would do so …but Pauli can do mowtown – sing on those but not kiss music

  8. The fact is the most successful era of KISS was when they're still original Four. After that the magic is gone. Even the funniest Kiss interview with Tom Snyder 1979 they're still original four. After Ace and Peter gone. We never get the sequel

  9. I saw the original 4 back in the 70's. It was an amazing concert. I will never forget it. I still love Ace and Peter, always will. Fame and drugs and alcohol broke the band up. They are never going to get back together. We all must face it and let it go. Ace is still performing and he is great. He is a Legend and Peter is a legend. We love then both.

  10. Ace is a sloppy mess now. He claimed Gene sexually assaulted his gf at the tim(who doesnt have great things to say about him now) but ace used that as a bargaining chip saying hed forget about it if they let him come back to the band lmao. Paul and Gene havent done everything in the best way, but ace is a mess. I would like to see it but can blame them

  11. It would be really cool if they were just keeping this all a big secret, and had some tricks up their sleeves for the final shows. But, sadly, those last shows will probably be the same scripted shows they’ve been doing for decades.

  12. “Two sides of the coin” I’m an 70/80’s kid and love Kiss. You only have to look back at past attempts of making up only to break up again, it’s not like it hasn’t been attempted before…..and it failed….some bridges just can’t be mended, particularly when said two have made bad choices and the contempt from that spills onto the stage. Not what the fans want to see. Who can blame Gene and Paul, especially at the end of their careers to not want to risk a repeat of this. In an ideal world it would be great to see them finish as they started – original band back together, but they are still great now. They’re not the only band playing without original members. You only have to look at Fleetwood Mac and their big fallout with Lindsay Buckingham, sad but it happens. It’s not always about “ego” it’s the betrayal and in this case physical altercations and dummy spit spiteful sabotages that spilled on stage for all the audience to see. Who can blame Gene and Paul. The band is playing as a united front now why would you want anything less🤷‍♂️

  13. If they do like Paul said. "There might even be a time when Gean and I Aren't even in the band. And if that happens, you have officially created first officially sanctioned kiss, tribute band. And if they went into the studio to record new music. I wouldn't buy it because it's not really kiss.

  14. My birthday is November 25 in Tennessee. They need to be there. Cmon. Did kiss lip sync at that football game in uk? I met gene one night at the ravens nest. Nassau county. He was with these old dudes 😅

  15. Paul and Gene love to talk trash. Their egos have exceeded their ages, and that''s saying something. I saw them in 1996. It was great, all original members. It can't get better than that.

  16. Kiss Has NOT Been Kiss , Ever Since Ace & Peter Left The Band !! Without Those 2 In The Band , Well , I Could Really Care Less About Their End Of The Road Tour !! As Far As I Am Concerned , Kiss Died A Long Long Time Ago When Ace & Peter Left The Scene !!

  17. I get the idea if some sort of reunion on stage but the original band has been together twice now and both times they have split up. If some form of reunion happens then I'd also like to see some kind of tribute to Eric Carr and Mark St.John.

  18. What's the point of Kiss ending in NYC without Peter and Ace? What connection does either Eric or Tommy have to NYC? Since it's all about Gene and Paul, if Peter and Ace aren't there they should end in Los Angeles or Las Vegas where the current band members live. That would be a much more authentic ending for current Kiss. Perhaps that is the plan, but they won't reveal it until after the "final" shows are over.

  19. @PucKchucker67 got 5he right idea. The last two shows should be grandiose. They should actually open for themselves and split the night doing kiss Era segments where all surviving members get to do their thing. Rest in peace Eric Carr and Mark St. John

  20. Gene Simmons put his ego away… yeah right. He is way too full of himself to do that. The true farewell tour was in 2000, with the original lineup. I feel bad for those who wasted their money on this tour

  21. Sad to say but it will NEVEr happen!! It all comes down to ego. Especially, GENE his EGO is always bigger than the room. If he doesn’t get all the ATTENTION he can’t stand it! Paul runs his mouth all the time and always talks about Ace and past tense and is unfair to say the least! After Ace departed Kiss solo work was outstanding! Saw the real Kiss when I was a kid and was the best experience. In 2012 saw Kiss with new lineup and left as they were AWFUL! Motley Crue blew them off the stage. Say what you want but Ace is way better than Thayer. The big problem here is Paul and Gene DONT want to write the check to have Ace and Peter come back! That’s pathetic!!

  22. Paul Stanley is not the KISS Frontman, Gene Simmons is. How many tours is this now which have been the “KISS’ Final Tour” it’s like double the amount of tours which they haven’t claimed was going to be their final tour… the tour they were on for the movie Detroit Rock City (1999) which was set in 1978 was a Final KISS Tour…
