30 thoughts on “Lung Room for a Grow Tent? – FTS Clips

  1. @Fromthestash
Just ordered the T3 humidifier from ac infinity used from the stash promo code. Can't wait to have more control over my 4×2 tent. Heats killing me.
Thank you guy's for looking out for the consumer.

  2. I'm kinda confused on how a lung room works? How would the cooler air from your lung room get inside your tent if it's sealed? I just made a box, put it over my air conditioning vent in the room, put a filter over the opening so no bugs can crawl in, and ran duct from the box that's covering my air conditioner vent, through the bottom vent of my grow tent, so now I have my air conditioner bringing in colder air inside my tent, and I can just take the duct out of my tent if it gets too cold.

  3. Or, heres an Idea from a grower whos old and seen shit, you use a BIGGER room/tent than you need and you only half fill it at best.
We used to run 4-8 plants, in a room the size of a family lounge room. We had room for 16 plants if we wanted to run that many. Same goes for Aquariums, if you need a 3 ft tank for a certain fish, you get a 4 foot tank for it.
I run 1 plant in my 3×3. ONE!! and aim to half fill the tent with a 5-6 week veg on my seedling. I often end up 3/4 filling it, but the principle is the same, stop trying to cram so many plants into one space!! What would you rather-4 sickly spindly looking plants or 1-2 big fat healthy ones??
I get more weed off my single plant in my 3×3 than some growers get out of a 4×4 !!

  4. My flower area is 2 tents and a closet. I leave doors open all the time with lots of fans. Central air & heat. I don’t use an inline fan just a box fan at the bedroom door pushing out. At night when I close the bedroom door I’m running a dehumidifier 22 pint GE does a good job.

  5. My tent is in my garage which has great intake and exhaust flow and I run co2 but I find the colder months and winter time are my best grows just from being able to control my space a lot better. In the summer time I am constantly fighting the heat not having ac in my garage or enough power capacity to run a portable air conditioner. Always leads to a problem weather it’s stunted growth for certain times of the day when the heat spikes or even if I run lights on at night off during the day then I have issues with my dark period being way hotter than lights on cycle or I’ve had issues with drying so I still can’t help myself but to grow during the hot months but the colder times are so much better! I run a small wall mounted heater set on a temp switch so it shuts off at around 80 degrees and kicks on when it drops below 72. That combined with my ac infinity humidifier turning on and off at my set parameters allows me to run a somewhat sealed room. I run the humidifier outside the tent with the hose going in my heater keeps the garage at steady temps during the day and lights on time plus the co2 stays in the tent and I get the benefit of lowering the night cycle temps to exactly what I want allowing me to reach that super gnarly fade. Then my VPD just stays super consistent the entire flowering cycle as well as being able to keep the room at a solid 60/60 during drying getting that nice 2 week dry 🔥!! After writing this I am now realizing how dumb I am to even bother growing in the summer time lol it’s so much stress and honestly js pain in my ass but I guess the love for the plant makes it worth doing

  6. I recently lost some to Russet mites from a living soil I rather not name. I accept total responsibility. I should've started IPM sooner, especially if your doing an outdoor parallel to an indoor. I am now learning from my mistakes and drenching the soil with neem oil, castile soap , RO water before the grow. Thanks for the episode Fellas!!

  7. All this talk about environment. I'm curios how much it all really matters. Where I live RH is 5-15% and 100 deg a good part of the growing season so even indoors it's a struggle to keep it higher. Forget staying in optimal VPD either, hot, dry, but buds are still stacking like they don't care and potency is no different than the same beans grown in "perfect" conditions by a friend nearby.

If I saw a 10, 20 or 30% difference in yield, potency, taste I might be paying more attention but it's virtually the same. If you have the basics right it works. I do pick Sativa's that like it that way for the most part.

  8. You guys are absolutely correct. My long room is controlled with an AC and a dehumidifier outside the tent, which makes it easier and more efficient to control it inside the tent best way I found to do it so far and also do not take up space in my tent.

  9. Would you follow your VPD if you have temperatures of 86.1 Fahrenheit?

The chart marks 70% humidity or more for that temp.

But I am in flowering. So I am confused.

  10. This is idiotic. The whole point of venting the tent is to reduce humidity and/or heat. You want to suck in cool dry air or the tent can't regulate itself.

  11. Exactly what Chris was saying towards the end. I keep my lung room humidity and temperature slightly lower than the required humidity and temperature I want in my tent. Thankfully where I'm at my basement lung room on its own would maintain 40-50% humidity and 55-60 degree temperature year round, it's been amazingly easy to modify and maintain my settings in both the lung room and tent (soon to be tent's, my veggies are getting lonely down there, come on Ohio pass adult use).

  12. Don't heat your lung room unless the air coming in is so cold it's damaging your plants, that's wastefully expensive. You can get a space heater the size of a 6 pack of beer, let your controller 69 kick it on when you need it.
