Thanks for joining us! Be sure to watch to the end to see what ended up happening to the money. It's pretty unbelievable. Cheers!
He got stopped for “following too closely” just by chance for the second time in two days? The cop immediately asked him to get out?
Clearly they had advance knowledge and were looking out for him.
These cops put a bolo out on that car knowing that he had that kind of cash that's why they keep stopping him
USA vs 96690$ omfg.. hands up!!! I said hands up, you’re under arrest stack!! I don’t see a dog neither and 98% of all bills in circulation been used for drugs at one point..
So America has legalised theft what a country
THEY USED A K-9 TO GET A FALSE FOREITURE OMG LOL
a police department even bought a Zamboni with their budget !!! In what way does a PD have the necessity for a Zamboni ?!!! Ooh, by the way nobody knows where the Zamboni is at this moment !!!
Unbelievable – public theft !
You didn't give the victim a grade…..I wasn't going to say anything but when I was reading the comments I see that one even gave your video an F as an Audit for giving officers who helped the government rob this man a B. For me it's just, I can tell that you feel what happened was wrong but didn't want to comment on that for your own reasons. I feel like you should have said something other than "it was legal". I know you avoid bringing up race and things like that too when you can . But you didn't give an opinion on when the cops we're talking amongst themselves and said something like "you know it's weed money right" and then when they go back and have a second (private) conversation one cop says something like " I honestly think he's telling the truth"( while they're considering basically robbing this man) , it's just not right. I know u don't want to offend any demographic,so I understand but I just feel like you really should have said something, I feel like you know it, and you *forgetting to give this victim a grade really makes me believe that. I love the channel and will always be a huge fan, really appreciate the content you put out and the effort you put in man.
Deposit that money in a bank nearby and transfer it. I would never transport that amount of cash across the country.
I'm Canadian and one of my friends was attending University somewhere in the Southeastern US, in the early 2000's I forget exactly where. He'd drive back home to Canada a few times a year for holidays. His parents gave him a 2-3 thousand in cash USD to pay for upcoming expenses. First and last rent, books etc. He got pulled over by a state trooper on his way back and they confiscated his cash and kept it. They threatened to arrest him on the spot. The trouble involved in getting it back was such that he just let it go. The "tyranny tax" let's call it.
After a cop planted drugs on an innocent woman and the woman even pleaded guilty to get out of jail eventhough she was innocent (I think it was Florida), I will never consent to any search ever
This "Civil Forfeiture" law is what LEADS TO cops getting shot!!! This law is should state, drugs &/or drug related articles MUST BE found at the time the money is seized. Personally, as once a courier, it was a weekly routine to go to a "Law Firm" in Washington DC, get a briefcase handcuffed to my wrist with large sums of money in the briefcase, sometimes $100,000 or more, delivering to a "Law Firm" in Philadelphia PA. The Law Firm in Philly had the key to unlock the handcuff upon delivery, WITH a "Time Deadline" in the process. Included was a signed form from the Law Firm to ANY "cop agency", that if they (the cops) made a stop of me to cause a delay, they were instructed to call the Law Firm Immediately, failure to do so would be reason to "cause" a lawsuit by the firm.. I was stopped one time. When the cop saw the briefcase & letter, he said, quote, "get the hell out of my sight". Word to the money carrying people: LOCK the money in a fireproof safe, hopefully bolted to the vehicle, MAKE the Cops WORK for it. THESE "Thieves" need to pay, somehow, someway & until that happens, "Talking" (as audit the audit mentions) with Your "Political" representative will NEVER make a difference!! THE Gov't is too Money Hungry to stop STEALING from the Citizen!
Alternative title: Tyrants still money from an innocent man.
The chief debriefing his police officers at the station "how do we keep 50% of all seized money"? The police all shout back at the top of their lungs "it's weed money"!
This dumb ass cop knew what was in the car look how he was just leading the question.
Paper money will almost always have small amounts of cocaine on it.
That’s honestly enough money that I’d take a stand against leaving with out
"Sir, you have a rather large amount of legal tender. That's highly illegal."
Yeah, I give the trooper an F- for being a F@#&. He stopped him for a traffic misdemeanor at best. I mean how can the officer know how close he was following if he's behind the car. He's told the car is a rental and proceeds to ask the man to get out. For a traffic stop this is highly suspect. Drivers license, ownership and valid insurance is all that be needed. Then he gets him by the cruiser and asks to search the vehicle. How do you go from following too close to bring the drug dogs and comb through a rental car that could have any type of evidence in it that has nothing to do with the driver. This should be absolutely illegal even with consent because the public needs protections against authority agents who have been taught to trick law abiding citizens into situations they are not prepared for. Look how many subsections and different statutes there are in these so called legal documents. Shouldn't trump the constitution and human rights. America what is going on!
Settlement? We seized $96K, but since we've cleared you of all wrongdoing, we'll give you back $38K? What the fuck is that about?
literally STEALING money, have no money it's a crime, have too much money it's a crime, have the right amount of money it's too convenient and it's a crime, governments just want money, hell they put tax ontop of tax ontop of tax ontop of more tax, they tax the same money like 9 times it's insane.
Ok ….now i know legal robbery is a thing
I live in a small town in Ct… if anyone is pulled over w/ more than $40 in their pocket it is the norm for the police to seize it… claiming it's 'shaddy' for anyone to carry such a 'large' sum of cash on them… as if $40 is a large sum. I guarantee it goes into the family expenses of which ever cop steals it. I personally know at least 10 people this has happened to, one is my own daughter who had just cashed her paycheck… was going school shopping and had $1,250 in her purse, along w/ her paystub dated that morning… all the money was seized, she was never arrested for a crime… and in order to try and get any of the money back she would have needed to hire a lawyer to sue the state, (it was taken by state police as we do not have local police in our town)…. The attorney would have cost $2700… court cost could have been higher… she ended up walking away from it. This is legal theft
And now everyone has seen why the "War on Drugs" will never end… because police departments involved are using it to enrich themselves by allowing drug dealing to generate huge amounts of money and then seizing it for themselves. It is a system set up to reward abuse of authority and treating everyone as a "criminal".
That guy probably lost his job for essentially losing the company $100,000. He probably list his wife and kids too too. His dog was probably diagnosed with cancer and had to be be put down later that week. It was a really bad month
I don't understand why the owner of that money settled. They should have joined the carrier in a suit for wrongful arrest and for interference in whatever contract was intended. I'm thinking that something wasn't kosher for them to conduct that business in cash, and they didn't want to have that issue explored, so they settled.
