I was tought that a watch was a good way to make a impression that you would always be on time and knew what you were doing and where you were going.. especially at school, job interviews, ect.. if you wore a watch you knew the time and date and were responsible.. nowadays watches should still be worn because it still shows responsibility and alot of places don't allow cellular phones, cameras. and a way of showing you go out of your way to be respectful and responsible..so don't ever kill the standards of basics..

3. I had a Sony watchman that saved me from a tornado when the power went out in '86.

At least we had awesome movies coming out regularly to watch on our VHS back in the day movies like Terminator, Back to the Future, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Good Fellas, there was something special about going to the video store and picking out movies. Now days it's comic book and other boring things for the most part. So technology isn't everything, creativeness has gone down.

6. ZIP drive that could hold 100mb on one disk. I spent stupid $$ on those from staples

7. Tape drives definitely don't qualify as "no longer used". Tape is still very efficient at backing up massive amounts of data.

8. You left tape recorders off the list, I'm sure many of us remember setting up the microphone in front of one of the speakers of your family's stereo system to record a song or songs off the radio.

9. My mom was a secretary starting in the 1950's could type 80 words a minute before using a electric typewriter.💪🕶️

14. I think the greatest invention was caller ID. People now days don't know what it was like for years we got stuck answering telemarketing calls or that one guy who talks non stop for 4 hours straight. The dilemma… do I answer and risk getting stuck in a long time consuming conversation, or do I not answer and risk missing something very important?

17. wow, do you do any research or just make stuff up as you go along? Riddled with errors, like a Sony Betamax sways recorded off air in color, the early video cameras that hooked up to them were black and white.

18. I remember I had an ISDN line in the mid and late 90's, prior to cable/DSL internet being available. That was nice because it was about 5 times as fast as dialup.

19. When you and your friends would make you mix tapes? That was fun, being a kid in the 80s & 90s 😁

20. I actually just bought a wristwatch. None of that digital nonsense. Only problem…it's March 2nd and apparently it's the 30th of February

You think that's bad I was the first one in my family to get a cell phone and that was in 2001 oh, I still have this phone to this day I do not know why maybe because there are some photos I'd like to get off but the technology is so damn old I don't think I could get it off. But fun fact it is a flip phone it's small enough to fit in the palm of your hand now looking at smartphones they are bigger than your hand it's funny how technology pass Us by.

    But the most ironic thing is to this day my parents still asked me how to fix the TV or cable or even my phone's not working, I suck at technology I was born in the 90s but raised like the 80s so most of the eighties technology to me is not old I even still have the same typewriter that my mother taught me how to type right on and it's better than a computer because you could correct your mistake, and I still put what draft it is in the corner I would love to see the generation now to see what one or two or even three means what in the corner of a paper
