In 2010, trapped Chilean miners were given cannabis smuggled by their friends to help them stay calm. The miners were trapped for around 69 days, and the cannabis was meant to help reduce their anxiety and panic. Chilean government officials, however, became extremely concerned about the miners having access to cannabis.
