43 thoughts on “Cops Get Challenged By Informed Citizen After Questionable Stop

  1. I was having a discussion with my father about this very thing. If you get pulled over for no reason, do you still have to go through the motions, as if there was a valid reason, if you can articulate that there was no reason for the stop?

  2. Police are idiots with a to big ego! Evidently you can see after talking 5 seconds with the guy, he doesn't have bad intentions.

  3. I was pulled over about a week ago and I didn't do anything wrong. When the officers approached they would not tell me reason for the stop and said it doesn't work that way and refused to give reason over 10 times. They also wouldn't get a supervisor at my request cause I knew they were escalating things and they kept saying it doesn't work that way and I refused to exit my car. Then I was extracted forcefully by 2 cops and they cracked my forehead off the pavement causing me to have to go to the hospital bleeding all over the place. They charged me with battery on the police, obstruction and resisting arrest. I had my hands on the steering wheel and I just wanted reason for the stop. After it was done they said my plate light was out. Do they have to articulate why they stopped me. It was in will county Illinois. If anyone can point me in the right direction for information or explain things to me I will appreciate it. Thanks. I want to suppress the charges and file suit. I'm currently waiting on all the dashcam and bodycam footage.

  4. Going to have to disagree with you on this one. The leo explained he stopped the guy due to an event at the prison, he had out of state plates, he turned around in the warden's driveway, and it looked like he was avoiding a checkpoint. The totality of the circumstances gave LE reasonable suspicion to stop the vehicle.

Once he stopped it, the refusal to give ID after he explained it was a legal stop heightened that suspicion. What citizens don't realize is that a cop does NOT have to divulge potentially compromising information or reveal the use of investigatory tactics, especially to someone they are actively investigating. The cop actually showed restraint by not escalating to going hands on; he explained the reason for the stop, confirmed he had the right to ID the driver, and was polite enough to ask nicely for the ID. Would you prefer he demand it in a command voice?

For those asking why he didn't let them go after they stated why they were there: people NEVER lie to cops right? Lol, this topic always confounds me. They watch a video and believe everything that comes out of a person's mouth. The whole point of an investigation is to determine the truth of the situation, that the facts support the appearance. By the way, many many people that have warrants or protection orders etc., search for a reason to deny identification. Trust but verify.

The driver had the right to ask why he was stopped, and why LE needed his ID. However, both questions were answered and he continued to offer resistance, asking the same questions repeatedly. Just because a citizen doesn't agree with the answers, or personally know the law that covers the interaction, it does not invalidate the legality of the contact. Ignorance of the law does not exclude adherence to it. This is a rock solid precedent.

After establishing WHY the driver had to provide ID, he should have immediately complied, given that his question was answered. The leo obviously did not want things to escalate, even though he now had justification to physically remove the driver and place him under arrest after giving him ample opportunity to comply.

The incident crosses over into civil court matters if the driver wishes to continue arguing he was unlawfully detained and wants to sue. This is how people get hurt, believing they are being "righteous against tyranny" instead of settling matters using proper legal channels. This doesn't just apply to this situation, but so many others.

Everything the driver did past receiving answers to his questions and justification for his detention and subsequent identification was asinine, spiteful, and technically illegal. Your grades should be reversed in this situation, imo, and I invite further discourse. Going through your catalog now, great content!

  5. Crackhead 🐷s hurting bad for their ID fix. I also love how they have "reasonable suspicion" but always leave out the most important part, OF A CRIME.
    Absolutely pathetic police work.
    Stand firm on your 4A.

  6. Why these idiots keep acting like this when they know there is a camera pointing at them and being put online? They need to watch what they do 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

  7. I know someone that had a go at the cops here for searching a minor without their parent presence their reply was oh we didn't find anything on her anyway they said it's not the point. They kept trying to ask for her details she like I don't have to give them to you they tried again and she said I don't have to give them to you and you know it she was filming it the one that searched her daughter refused to give up who she was and tried to push it onto her boss she had no badge on nothing she was asked if she felt good about her self searching a under-age girl. But in the end they tried to claim they didn't have to give their names ect when really they are supposed to they knew they were busted doing the wrong thing and they just admitted it on camera.

  8. I hate listening to these fuckin auditors misusing the word "lawful" so egregiously. They have the right idea but are using the wrong words.

  9. I don't understand why they ask for an ID to find out who you are when you already gave them a name that you can be called by. Not until you break real crime I don't think that id's should be exposed and or used, what if you lie to the cops well that's completely on you.

  10. Some all these rules go right out the window in the name of protecting the President as national security, can the state claim the same type of sensitivity in say guarding & maintaining a perimeter around the Governor?

I know that was not the circumstance here but a curious thought regarding sensitive areas.

  11. Police have a major health issue that effect society. Their is far less lead passing through their brains than would be good for society.

  12. Is it illegal to avoid a roadblock because the the delay? If I am driving somewhere and I realize that something ahead of me is a problem, I will take a different route. In fact, my GPS will typically tell me to take a different route.

  13. Next time show the actual whole video which shows how rude obnoxious show the full video of how bad they truly are because they're nothing more than Petty criminals that run around assaulting the intentionally did that so that they can get clicks reviews on a YouTube page they do not need to be

  14. OMG. The words of law as defined and seen by the Supreme Court.
    Blacks law dictionary
Motor vehicle : a vehicle moving goods or people for a fee or compensation.
Driver : an employee in commerce.

  15. 20 or so years ago when I was about 100 miles from the NY/Canadian border (on I-87) I was pulled over by a marked border patrol officer who wanted to see my ID. At the time I was only 19 and didn't know the laws regarding my rights and just gave it to him as I was confused to even see border patrol where I was. Ended up he was "suspicious" of me because I slowed down at the exit ramp he was parked near and because I didnt take it and looked "hesitant". When in reality I was just checking my mapquest directions as I didnt know which exit my college roommates house was at and realized I needed the following exit. He claimed I saw him and then tried to avoid him hence he assumed I was in the country illegally. I would think the NY plates on my car should of been a hint! That and my unmistakable NY accent~ If only I was mexican they would have just ignored me!
