The 1980s was a time of change for many different things. What was acceptable by the beginning of the decade started to become unacceptable by the end of the decade. There were a lot of safety standards adopted in the auto industry that we follow still to this day. In this video we will have a look at some of the 1980s things that are not socially acceptable today.

Oh yeah we all got Chicken Pox as kids in the 70s and 80s.
Can't tell you how many good memories I wouldn't have if social media was around. AOL was all I needed to keep in touch with friends/family that I didn't see all the time.
Back in the good old days, where you didn’t always have to be politically correct, and feelings were hurt so easily
The 80s had the best of everything! Music: Van Halen, Def Leppard, Michael Jackson, etc! Movies: E.T., The Goonies, The Breakfast Club, etc! Tv shows: The A Team, The Love Boat, etc
4:22 I could go for one of those lol
6:04 I mean I know mcdonalds used to be a LOT cheaper but that doesn't look right lol 33 cents for a cheeseburger .. 70 cent quarterpounder .. 15 20 cents for a coke ? lol
Growing up in the 60's and 70's had to be the best years ever! I wouldn't want to be a child in this era.
The 80’s must have been the greatest decade ever, you know since every movie and TV show today is just a rehash of something from the 80’s…
Oh my goodness! YESSSSSSS! This is absolutely 100 percent accurate. Wow, we didn’t know how lucky we were back in the day
never forget how lucky we were to be raised in this most amazing age
Nowadays it seems like ALMOST ALL movies are R-rated now.
Tobacco ads were a certified 80s classic
Outside the smoking thing, I would totally love to live the 80’s as a teenager. I was born in 87 but I only remember the 90’s and it was very different already
My Mom was progressive, she always cracked the driver's side car window 1.5mm to let the smoke out
Man I miss smoking. Not for all of the horrifying side effects, but just having a nice smoke with an ice cold Diet Coke or a beer.
This was pretty much the status quo until the mid to late 90’s
Uhff why today lifestyle sucks ?
Those were great days. Lucky to grow up then.
I was born in 1967 so I grew up in the 70s and started high school in 1980. Thanks for the memories.
Funny it was kind of good from the late 60's to the mid 90's seems like it all started to get messed up mid 90's and well here we are in a dystopian future that was predicted but none of us was really prepared for .We were promised Blade runner or Mad max but got 1984 instead. Ok more like a combination of all of them.
As a kid back then, I can tell you that things were so much more relaxed back then.
Hell damn near everything we did in the 70s and 80s are verboten today.
I remember my Dad letting me steer the car home from the supermarket when I was 5. Somehow I survived the 1980's
Kid of the 80s here and confirm all of this to be absolutely true
I wish things were still this way
I was borin 1965, and so glad to experience all that freedom. Life was much easier back then.
15, 16 and 17-year-olds also used to have more $ek$. They also travelled on their own even internationally…
Much better times those were.
Which means today's kids need to loosen up and parents too. And please, stop trying to make life perfectly safe.
Yeah well, today sucks.
Great times miss everything that was then
Growing up in the 80's was the best, I'm so glad I grew up in that Era. I can't imagine how bad it would suck to grow up in any other decade.
Good times…so sad what these soft kids are missing out on.
Playing outside was amazing, don't miss the smoking.
those good old times
so nice to have enjoyed that
Belle Epoque.
Some of these things still occurred before 2008
Sounds like current day in my country
it was acceptable in the 80’s….
70s – 80's was the apex of human society!
It was a good time to grow up. I lived it.
Mentioning the mall at 4:34. A few months back I read about one mall, and I don't know if it was merely proposed or is policy, but it said that anyone under 18 had to be accompanied by somebody who was at least 21. I'll be 60 in 10 weeks, and well remember kids at malls by themselves. Posting 4-1-23.
because mankind is so easy to steer.
Still riding the bike without a helmet
but I am thankful that smoking is not allowed in coffee houses and restaurants and that safety belts are used
I got paddled a lot in elementary school I didn't think it was that painful but kids were tough back not like the wimps today
I remember one restaurant where the non smoking section were the tables closest to the restrooms, not that it was a separate area or made any difference.
Actually, this was the 50s and 60s except for the BMX bikes. People did wear seatbelts. Why are you stealing this? Re smoking, there WERE smoking sections in restaurants.
same us i n my country
