Sometimes in life you need to travel to a foreign country alone to dress up as a gecko and talk to strangers. This was very fun and even though there was a language barrier i feel like we still got some meaningful interactions in there. Where should i go next? i am a gecko.

Geck can skate – this has to be a reoccurring thing. Where is Tony Hawk??
Im Guatemalan. W vídeo Geck! S/o to the Chapin Chad that popped in to translate.
People around the world don't have a concept of what "what do you do?" means. They don't see their work, or career as the definition of their life or person. That's why you're getting literal answers or confusion. Just ask what their job is directly.
We didn't get a good shot of angel's instagram!!?!? >=(
The contrast is insane
I feel like people are programmed to behave as their race like look at what white, black and asian people do they're behave all different.
A portable kiosk where you offer beverages, sweets and local delicatessens to compliment the awkward pauses.
It’s time to bread, brother.
NOT THE ANOS NOT THE ANOS LYLE
Get good at spanish and travel more of latin america
i wanna see lyle land the kickflip one day
that was rough as a Spanish speaking individual……. i love it though
You should go to Cartagena Colombia next, been there twice, you'll love it!
The translation they did for Nancy's words to the people of the computer didn't made it justice, she said "There can always be a moment to have fun when you less expect it, like this today". That was actually great wisdom lol
47:45 is my favorite part of the video!
Being Brazilian i speak portuguese, but our country is close to a lot of spanish speaking countries. So i guess i can understand a lot of what was said (kinda wanted to be the translator), but like gecko, i woudnt know how to explain all the thoughts i was having in spanish. But funny enough, I do know a lot of english. I guess im not a bilingual, but i can write, understand and speak with people in english.
So after saying this all, that video was a funny experience, i was trying to pay attention in all languages and funny mistakes that were made, both in english and spanish, while still cheering for yall communication to happen, and playing an online game. But Gecko, i could understand all, it was amazing, and i think i could learn a lot more abiut this two languages. I hope you can travel one day to Brazil, i would love to see you talking to people, and hopefully talk to you, sometime!
Congratulations for this video, it was very entertaining! Mucho bueno! E Realmente maravilhoso!
I feel happy to have a gecko representing me as an American. Also, everybody in Guatemala seems so nice and chill. Peace to you guys!
Seeing geck skate at a random park in Guatemala feels like a level in a Tony hawk game
Last thing lavoro is italian, spanish has laboro, but it’s much more normal to just say trabajo unless you’re in argentina where they think they’re italian. It’s the exact same root as “labor” in english, so it’s pretty equivalent to going around asking people “What do you do for labor?” “What kind of labor are you looking for?”
Alguien is anyone! Algo is anything or something. You keep asking, “Is there anyone else, you like to speak to the people?” Per is italian, spanish has por and para depending on the context but there ain’t no per so cut it out with that, also di is de. “Vero” is “verdad”, and sometimes “cierto” but the way you’re using it (to show agreement or affirmation of another’s idea or opinion would more translate to either “Cierto” or “exacto” or “eso”. Also you’re retaining a lot of vowels at the end of words which exist in italian but not spanish, animale(italian) ani(MÁL) – emphasis on the mal (spanish), also 50% of english comes from latin so a large part of the words in spanish and english come from the same exact root (caligraphy -> caligrafía, geography -> geografía, biology -> biología to the point where you can figure out the rules of how things change and do stuff like… orthonography (never heard anyone say this but you can bet your sweet ass it’s -> orthonográfia. Once you get an ear for latin words in english you start to see all the patterns and then you’ve unlocked the gates to being able to cooly transition between italian, french, spanish, portuguese and english without having to think all that much about it.
Your italian is killing your spanish mio amico
Big ups to the dude who sat there and translated!
Big fan. You're the best, Geck. Muchos Muchos!!
Great vid… make sure you say "AN-YOS" instead of "A-NOS" because otherwise you're asking people how many anuses they have instead of how old they are
Gecko que guapo 😉
oh hell yea!!!!
I always wanted to go to a Spanish speaking country and live for some time but I’ve been scared my Spanish isn’t good enough… now seeing this I feel so much better because I know at least my Spanish is better than Lyles and he still had a great time 🤣
nice to see geck expend his boundaries
