i remember liking this show, I was 9.
21:54 Actually those were NOT the child-clones aged up. They were a SECCOND batch of clones that Zurg left in the cloning chamber too long.
And I'm quite sure in Good Ol' Buzz, he was telling the truth about his memory being affected by time travel.
On another note, I think this show is a far better supposed origin for the Buzz Lightyear toy then the movie Lightyear.
I have fond memories of the DTV movie of this. Such a fun concept.
now why IN THE FUCK can't I watch The Adventure Begins movie anywhere online?
Also that vampire in the show ruled (NOS-4-A2 being a genius name)
There was also a recurring robotic vampire character named NOS-482…
As in Nosferatu.
God, this show was brilliant.
When you said Willuam Shatner sang the outro…was the word 'sung' in quotes? It sounded like it and it would be accurate since The Shat doesn't sing. Dude just says the lyrics while music plays.
I adored this show when I was a kid and always wanted to see more of it, since I only ever got to see the occasional episode. Until Emperor's New Groove, it was how I knew Patrick Warburton.
I definitely loved this show on Saturday afternoons as a kid! Sad it's lost to the ether
I loved this show as a kid! I'm glad others remember it too.
I had the direct to vhs copy of the show, and really liked it as a kid. I had no clue it was a 60 episode show until today. The more you know.
The humor in this show is so under appreciated. A lot of it still holds up. So many good character bits!
I distinctly remember that this was one of the first shows to sorta mess me up as a kid, and all because of that one episode where the team FUCKING MELTS
i saw an epsiode of this show as a kid, let's just say that the swedish dub voice for Buzz isn't the best, To put it nicely
As soon as you said Bobcat Goldthwait voiced XL and I heard him in the clip I was jolted right back into the other weird straight-to-video sequel I know him from, which is as Silly Ozbul in The Lion of Oz (in his own words, you can just call him "Silly"). Weird ass movie that I watched a LOT of times as a kid on vhs (and I think I have it on dvd now for preservation reasons). It has a shockingly ok cast, for what it's worth.
Thank you for exploring this childhood treasure; I was a Toy Story fanatic growing up, still am, I still greet people inspired by Woody's "Howdy". My mother treated me to this surprising VHS release in 01, hot on the hype of TS2. At 8 years old I felt an incredible rush to follow Buzz in this new adventure, to see his original environment fleshed out, his world enriched by new and familiar faces. The story thrilled, entertained and terrified me in places, to this day my sister and I still quote the LGMs' "We are one. We are united, we are powerful! We are… afraaaiiid!" It was truly something special.
I'd never watched the TV series, but I'm so thankful for your summary; it's further deepened the nostalgic lore for me, and I've cracked up over the extended cast of villains, what a treat! I truly thank you for taking the time to provide a young man an old smile; it's thoroughly appreciated.
Perhaps I'll give that new Lightyear film a try.
Update: My suspicions were correct, it departs from what we know about Buzz and holds promising moments; yet, ultimately, falls flat: A forgettable film.
They had perfect source material and decided to make a movie about a robot cat 🤯
I don't remember if the TV show ever aired here (if it did I didn't watch it) but I still know the Finnish dub of the movie by heart and it's definitely one of my favorites!
Had the DVD of the combined 1st 3 episodes when I was a kid…and still have it in a random dvd wallet somewhere.
My head cannon will always be that the VHS seen in the intro with Andy's buzz is what made him want Buzz & we're seeing the toys find the tape after the events of the 2nd movie.
you should about 101 dalmatians the series next.
I always got the vibe Mira and Buzz were a thing
I loved this show

i loved the movie based on this series, i still have the dvd from my childhood
I remember watching this show as a kid, but I never knew this show had Kronk and Newman in the voice cast.
Sucks that we didn't hear Buzz say "Oh yeah, it's all coming together"
Haven’t watched the video yet so don’t know if he mentions it, but all I remember of this show is an episode where Buzz and his female counterpart get turned into gross slime aliens, and everyone thinks they died, and at one point they’re sneaking through the vents and see their funerals, and Buzz cries, but the alien tears are acid so they fall into the middle of the funeral and everyone starts shooting.
