0:00 Intro
0:05 The technician said: “They said they were driving at 80mph, so around 15k in first gear, and the customers were actually laughing that they did this by accident and weren’t mad.”
The car needs a new transmission and engine but it might be going to the scrap yard instead.
0:23 Rear brakes were metal to metal (non-existent), so somebody had the rear brake hoses pinched off. Bolts to bolt in the brake calipers were almost missing.
0:38 The technician said: “ISX12 G Cummins engine.”
They got the company to approve the repairs for new engine mounts and installed them when they installed the new cylinder head.
0:50 The bunny was fine and made its way outside.
0:58 The technician said: “The car came in because the customer said it died on her a few times while driving when she turned the lights on. She thought the car had a draw and had noted having an alternator installed by someone else 9 months prior. The car had no such symptom and no draw, so I asked the advisor to give the customer half the diag time back as the battery and charging system all tested fine. The customer did not mention this, but it was obvious the car had been sitting for some time. She mentioned the brakes were grinding but didn’t pay for an inspection or service. I found the tires to be mismatched — fronts were studless snow tires and the rears were bald all seasons. All were cracking terribly.
The front driver-side brake pads were on the metal and had destroyed the rotor, but only on this corner. The belt was missing almost an entire rib and had little backing material left, only the reinforced ribs. These were only about half the issues, and the oil hadn’t been changed in over 15k miles.
This customer was new and very offended when we made her aware that we could not let the car drive out like that, it would tires and brake repairs, or a tow. She then changed what she wanted diagnosed, she declined all repairs and said she might buy tires and brakes if we could tell her why the car wasn’t passing emissions. The car had a CEL and did not communicate with any scan tool including our factory Mercedes tool.
I found that the front SAM had water damage, it will need to be replaced and programmed before we can look into the CEL. I have yet to hear back on whether they will pursue any of the repairs or services.”
1:17 The customer’s brother welded a piece of metal on a brake pad backing plate to use as a brake pad…
1:24 The technician thinks that it was the customer who dropped something in his engine but was blaming it on another shop.
1:43 Ford Fusion got new front and rear shocks.
1:51 The technician said: “This is a common fault to see on Dodge’s which can be fixed by “flashing” the ECU. ”
1:57 2014 Ford F-150. As mentioned the mobile mechanic didn’t even want to try and fix this customer’s mess of wiring.
2:06 The customer cut a hole in the hub cap for the tire stem which he didn’t need to do as the hub cap has a spot to make room for the tire stem.
2:13 The technician said the customer just got into an accident and brought it in for the “loud noise”.
2:23 The customer said apparently another shop was the last to install the brakes on his car.
2:30 The technician said: “Severely corroded brake booster on a Mercedes-Benz R320 CDI, there is a big recall due to this happening on ml, gl and r class models, hundreds of thousands of cars have been affected”.
2:39 No extra info.
2:49 2021 Toyota Venza. The customer had a flat tire multiple times, kept driving on the flat tire, and filled up the tires afterward. The customer got a new tire installed.
2:56 “Guy driving and pulling a trailer on a trailer does not have the load properly strapped down properly.”
3:04 Thanks for watching!

38 thoughts on “Customer States Car Won’t Start After Flat Towing Behind RV | Just Rolled In

  1. How does anyone leave the manual in 1st. gear while having the vehicle towed. Is he an absolute moron or are all drivers in the US just as stupid…………………Shhhhheeeesh!

  2. We really going to skip over the fact the car said press the clutch and push to start… on an automatic.

I don't blame the owners on that one.

  3. tying the caravan down to itself is classic, now I know where all the pairs of mole-grips I've bought over the years ended up, under people's cars holding suspension and steering struts together, what a gem of an idea, nuts and bolts are just far too easy, cable ties as well. . .

  4. The cost of owning and maintaining a car is too much for most, and automakers keep making more expensive cars, laws get stricter etc.

  5. There's a lot of people driving around who are to stupid to pour piss out of a boot, let alone be tooling down the road at speed.

  6. These morons are driving these dangerous vehicles on the same roads as the rest of us. It's one thing to be stupid and put yourself in danger but it's another thing to be stupid and endanger others.

  7. reminds me of a guy i workes with, he has a jeep he flat towed and didn't put the t case in neutral. it was some mid 90s jeep where you could only get a used replacement t case for that one specific year, and it cost an arm and an ahole

  8. I love your videos. And thanks again to convert everything to metric. Am surprised how some people so ignorant and careless to their vehicles. I never thought that level of stupidity is existed, specially when safety concerns raised by the mechanic, and the owner will decline the repairs. If you can't afford a vehicle maintenance, better of walking.

  9. Some ppl are just dumb when it comes to cars. If you don't know what you're doing leave it alone. I mean there is youtube they can find a repair guide for anything
