LYRICS
I have a place in mind where we
Can go get high
It’s not too far from home
But just in case
Tell your friends goodbye
You waited up all night for me there
Feet cold face white
You heard a noise in the shadows
Drawing near
From behind the pines
Tell me what you hear
Tell me what you see
Does it make your stomach weak
Should I interfere
No one by to split the roots beneath
Tell me what it’s like
Right before the end
Do you see yourself ascend
Do you feel the fear
Suspended in the air
Maybe I’ll get lucky
And I’ll find
A way to rewind time
And set you free
Maybe I’ll get lucky
And I’ll find
The man
The animal
That took you from me
Who
Who’s to
Who’s to decide
What we choose to be right
You took a friend from me
A plight of a wicked night
He was shaking in his boots
Shaking in ‘em
Who’s to decide
What we choose to be right
Will justice play a role in this case
Or will it take a toll to defy
A man’s inner urge to kill
To kill out of hate
Tell me what you hear
Tell me what you see
Does it make your stomach weak
Should I interfere
No one by to split the roots beneath
Tell me what it’s like
Right before the end
Do you see yourself ascend
Do you feel the fear
Suspended in the air
I have a place in mind where we
Can go get high
If you think that I’ll forget this
Forget what you did that night
I think you should reconsider
I think you should run and hide
Tell me what you hear
Tell me what you see
Does it make your stomach weak
Should I interfere
No one by to split the roots beneath
Tell me what it’s like
Right before the end
Do you see yourself ascend
Do you feel the fear
Suspended in the air
Maybe I’ll get lucky and I’ll find a way
To set you free
Maybe I’ll get lucky and I’ll find
The man
The animal
That took you from me

50 thoughts on “Body Thief – Death, Drugs & Dancing (Official Music Video)

  1. So glad to hear the next evolution of Body Thief. The beauty of it is this new direction maintains all the things that make Body Thief special – the unique lyrical cadence, noodling guitars, high pitched singing. It all just sounds more sustainable and focused. So excited for big things for this band!

  2. Great song, but honestly sounds like another DGD copy. Structure has kind of watered down a bit now from their old stuff unfortunately. I was a huge fan of the Travel Glow album and hoping not all of their abstract sound and complex vocal riffs are stripped away from signing on to Blue Swan.

  3. Death, drugs and dancing are moments in life that are made to bring highs and lows. The most important death, spirituality is thinking about death and waiting for that opportunity to rise above circumstantial tragedy.

  4. Wow. I was a huge fan of the first album but the second didnt hit the same for me. this new song has blown me away though, i am legitimately in love with this. i love the passion you guys bring, 11/11/22 was a great day for music! cant wait to see what comes next and i will be jamming this song daily

  5. Just clicked on this Randomly and I'm pleasantly surprised, it's such a funky song and strait up gives me 111 Winchester by I the mighty vibes and he sounds just like Tilian.
